Why the studio's cadence isn't a marketing line — and what we cut to make it real.
We tell clients we ship from brief to staging in fourteen days. Most agencies tell clients eight weeks. The gap isn't headcount, it isn't tooling alone, and it isn't 'AI did it' — it's a refusal to do specific things.
Here's the unglamorous truth: a 14-day shipping window is mostly subtraction. The fast studio is the one that says no to seven things the agency next door says yes to.
What we cut
We don't do design-presentation rounds. The first design round is the design. Iteration happens during the build, on real components in a deployed staging environment, not on a Figma frame in a Zoom call.
We don't do design tokens by committee. One person picks the type scale, the spacing scale, and the color tokens, on day one. Disagreement gets logged in an ADR and re-litigated only if a real product decision contradicts it.
We don't do change-control theatre. If a client asks for an addition mid-build, the brief either absorbs it or the timeline shifts. We're not adversarial about scope; we're just truthful about it.
We don't write a pre-build spec longer than ten pages. If the spec needs a hundred pages, the project shouldn't be two weeks long.
What we keep
Daily staging deploys. Every weekday by EOD, the client gets a URL with whatever shipped that day. No hidden work. No 'the design is almost ready' emails.
A real backlog. Captured in GitHub Issues, not in our heads. If a client asks 'is X being done?' we point at a label, not a memory.
An ADR for every architectural decision. Three paragraphs each. Searchable. So that when we hand off the repo on day fourteen, the next engineer can tell what we were thinking, not just what we wrote.
The agentic part
AI agents touch about a third of the work — boilerplate generation, scaffolding, type definitions, test stubs, content reformatting. They do not write the architecture. They do not pick the design. They do not handle the client call.
The agent stack is a force multiplier on the boring parts of building, which frees humans for the parts that need taste.

When fourteen days doesn't work
Multi-tenant marketplaces. Anything with regulatory hurdles. Anything where the integration partner controls the timeline. We say so up front. The fourteen-day promise is a STARTER and STUDIO commitment; PLATFORM engagements run 8 to 16 weeks because they have to.
What we don't do is pretend a platform-tier project is a STARTER one to win the deal. That's how studios with 20 % timeline overruns become studios with 80 % timeline overruns.
Fourteen days, brief to staging, when it fits. Honest scope when it doesn't. Either way, by the end of the engagement, the repo is yours.
